The cost of Botox price range is based on a number of factors. To help you understand how much a Botox treatment will cost you in NYC, I have created a complete Botox guide that will help you evaluate the procedure before getting it done. Along with learning about the differential cost of Botox NYC, I will also briefly give you an overview of the reasons to consider a Botox treatment, and how you can maintain its beneficial effects.

FIRST: WHAT IS A BOTOX TREATMENT?

First for the newbies who have never gotten a Botox or Dysport injection, I want to define what a Botox treatment is?

Botox or Dysport are injectable attenuated (weakened) neuromodulators that safely and temporarily paralyzes muscles. It was originally used in children to correct “lazy eyes” but many additional uses were discovered.

Facial injections of Botox and Dysport, in both men and women, is currently one of the most popular non-surgical non-invasive cosmetic procedures in the world. It can raise drooped eyebrows, reduce frown lines and lip lines, soften forehead wrinkles and eyelid “crow’s feet”, chin dimples and neck bands.

Other treatment areas that have been proven to be useful include the scalp (for migraine headaches), neck, facial and peripheral muscles (for spasms), arm pits (to inhibit sweating), the bladder and numerous other areas.

The way that Botox and Dysport work is that they temporarily inhibit muscle contraction beneath the skin. When underlying muscles are relaxed the overlying folds and wrinkles are smoothed out. These injections work only by weakening underlying muscle contraction are not facial fillers like Restylane or Juvederm.

Fillers and Botox or Dysport injections are not interchangeable. These injections work only by weakening underlying muscle contraction are not facial fillers like Restylane or Juvederm. Fillers are not interchangeable with Botox or Dysport injections. Fillers replace or “fill-in” lost facial volume whereas Botox or Dysport only inhibit muscle contraction. Both treatments are in fact complimentary aesthetic injections that will relax wrinkles and folds and help you regain your youthful appearance and enhance your face.

Can Anyone Receive Botox Injections?

Age does not matter, old or young people, who have a desire to soften their frown or wrinkles and are seeking treatments to look stress free and younger. Your gender or ethnicity does has no impact on the effectiveness of Botox or Dysport.

Botox Cost In New York City:

Botox like other goods and services has fixed costs that don’t vary (that is what the company that makes Botox charges everyone) and the variable costs that are based on the expertise of the individual doctor or nurse providing the service, the location of the office and the salaries of the staff.

Botox injections like other goods and services in New York City are typically more expensive then in the suburbs where the rent and salaries are also less expensive. So it is true that in general Botox cost more in NYC. In one vial of Botox there is 100 units of medicine and each unit costs on average $20. Most patients require between 20 to 60 units. That translates into an average between $400 and $1200.

In addition, the cost of Botox or Dysport injections are also determined by FIVE main factors.

1.Who is injecting your Botox?

Injecting Botox is deceptively easy. After all, it looks like the nurse or physician just takes a little fluid and squirts into facial muscles, and Walla ! Perfection! The answer is No! You should choose a specialist with years of experience and the ability to assess your facial features to create the best treatment plan possible.

Because when Botox is injected in the wrong place it can produce unwanted side-effects that you might find disturbing. For instance if the injector “chases” a wrinkle across your forehead and it happens to be too close to your central eyebrow then the Botox or Dysport can drift downward inhibiting a muscle that lifts your eyelid resulting in a drooped upper eyelid. I know you don’t want that!

Or if the practitioner injects only your “11” frown lines between your brows and does not inject other areas of your brow to balance out the effect then you may get a “boomerang”brow – a “Spock”-like overarched brow that looks hideous. So like everything else experience counts but more experience usually translates into a more expensive treatment sessions. However, avoiding complications can save you money and aggravation in the long run.

2. How Long Do Botox Treatments Last?

Before you begin you should know that effects of Botox last about three to four months. That’s all – when practitioners make claim that it lasts longer don’t believe them because it doesn’t. So when you factor in the cost of Botox or Dysport you should know that in order to maintain the beneficial effects of these injections you will probably repeat the treatment three to four times a year.

3. Is the cosmetic injectable product real?

Great question! The answer is maybe? It is possible that the provider dispensing Botox or Dysport obtained the drug from an overseas dispensary outside of the United States. These foreign vendors sell Botox and Dysport to doctors and nurses in the U.S. at a discounted price but their product is not always the real thing. That’s right! The Botox maybe counterfeit. The bottles may look identical but the product inside may not be real which means it may not work as effectively or not at all ! So if the provider is offering Botox or Dysport really cheap The first question should be –Was it manufactured by the U.S. company?

4. What Other Factors Determine the Cost of Botox?

The fixed cost of Botox or Dysport that the doctor pays for the drugs is relatively expensive and therefore that cost is obviously passed along to the patient. The cost of Botox or Dysport injections also depends upon the number of areas that are required to obtain the best results. The more areas that need treatment the greater the amount of injections that will be required to arrive at the most desirable result. Simply put -the more areas that need treatment the higher the cost of treatment.

5. How Was the Botox Mixed?

A factor that many patients are unaware of is that Botox and Dysport come in a powder form that must be mixed with sterile saline to reconstitute the vial. The amount of water that is mixed with the Botox or Dysport can vary and will determine the concentration of the medicine. Some doctors and nurses dilute the powder too much so that the final concentration of Botox or Dysport is weak. So if you go to a provider who advertises a cheap price (for instance below the wholesale price) the injections you may be getting may be very dilute and may not be as effective as a more concentrated (more expensive) injection.

Can I pay for Botox by the Area or by the Unit

The correct way to inject Botox is to always customize the treatment plan to solve the aesthetic issues that bother the person. Some patients need only limited areas injected such as the vertical lines between their brows, their “crow’s feet” at the outer aspects of their eyelids, the “bunny” lines that radiate on the sides of their nose, vertical and horizontal lip lines and rarely patients request a correction of their “gummy” smile where their upper gums show when a person smile. Yes, you usually can pay for specific areas of treatment or by the number of units injected. But if you only want single line or area of your forehead injected you may not be satisfied with the results in the end. Why? -because when Botox or Dysport is injected it will weaken only the muscles that are treated, there may be muscles that were not treated that are pulling in an opposite direction that will produce undesirable results(an example of an undesirable effect occurs when treating just the glabella “11” lines between your eyebrows that may produce an overarched brow contour that resembles Mr. Spock.) Therefore, a complete treatment plan that includes all muscle groups should be treated to balance the pull and counter-pull of facial muscles. In addition, injections around the mouth must be performed by an experienced injector because there is the potential for the mouth to droop afterwards which can cause you to drool or may impact your ability to eat, pucker and smile. These adverse effect may last several weeks.

What Other Factors Effects the Price of Botox or Dysport?

The more areas that need treatment the higher the cost of treatment. The reason is also simple – the cost of Botox or Dysport that the doctor pays for the drugs is relatively expensive and therefore that cost is obviously passed along to the patient. A second factor that many patients are unaware of is that Botox and Dysport come in a powder form that must be mixed with sterile saline to reconstitute the vial. The amount of water that is mixed with the Botox or Dysport determines the concentration of the medicine. Some doctors and nurses dilute the powder too much so that the concentration of Botox or Dysport is weak. So if you go to a provider who advertises a cheap price for injections you should question whether or not you are receiving a very dilute injection. This dilute mixture typically does not produce the same effect as a more or not concentrated (more expensive) injection and does not last as long.

Areas of Face Where Botox Can Be Used:

Today, Botox treatments are used to treat a number of cosmetic issues on your face. To help you understand better, I have listed down the areas of face where Botox can be used.

Glabella – The frown lines, the “11’s” or vertical creases between your eyebrows create a tired or angry look. Botox or Dysport can soften your scowl with a simple Botox injection. The NYC rejuvenating Botox treatment is a great option for this area. You will ultimately look more relaxed and less stressed.

Nose Area – the top of the nose is a common wrinkle spot, and the lines developed here are mostly referred to as bunny lines. These creases become more clear when you wrinkle your nose, but you can finally get rid of them. With a Botox treatment on either side of your nose, you can easily reduce their appearance.

Eyebrows – With age, your eyebrows have the tendency to drop, which is why they need a little boost. By inhibiting the muscles that push the brow downward Botox can help lift the brow.

Around The Eyes – It is common to see wrinkles and creases around your eyes, as the muscles around your eyes are constantly contracting when you talk or smile. The crow’s feet that have formed on the corner of your eyes can be effectively reduced with the help of Botox. Moreover, a Botox can help diminish the fine creases that have formed under your eyes.

Forehead – The horizontal lines and furrows on your forehead will not magically disappear. Which is why you should consider getting a Botox injection before they start to set in permanently. These lines will become more excessive with age, and will age to your appearance.Over time by repeatedly injecting these lines the deeply etched lines will become progressively improved

Chin – The muscles around your chin become more active with age, and create puckered, and a dimpled appearance. Botox can help relax the muscles on your chin area, and reduce the dimpled puckered appearance.

Neck – Neck bands can be injected with these neuro-modulators to soften and relax the vertical bands. particularly in the early stages of aging.

How to Prepare for your Botox or Dysport Injections:

In order to minimize the chance of developing a bruise, the key thing to prep for your injections should be to stop all blood thinners (like aspirin, Advil, Motrin, fish oil ,omega 3 vitamin E and other product) prior to making an appointment for an injection. Staying off blood thinners for at least one week is ideal but chilling the skin prior to treatment will reduce the chances of a bruise.

Side Effects of Botox Treatment:

Just like any medical procedure the Botox treatment rarely comes with a few possible side-effects that are temporary. The frequency of complications generally decreases the more knowledge of facial anatomy that your injector possesses and the greater the experience of knowing where and how much to inject. That is not to say that complications can occur in anyones hands but the incidence decreases with greater experience.Allergic reactions to Botox or Dysport is exceedingly rare in my experience.

Following are the side-effects that may occur:

How much time will your Botox treatment take?

Botox is mostly performed in a medical setting and is known to be a quick and painless medical procedure. The skin is cleansed with alcohol or another antiseptic and a topical anesthetic ointment is applied to the skin. After ten minutes the physician or nurse injects Botox or disport with a very fine needle. The procedure should be almost painless and takes only takes about 15 minutes to perform. You can easily walk out of the office and resume your daily activities. The effect of Botox or Dysport will usually take 48 to72 hours before you see the results.
