Dr. Kopelman will make an incision directly at the base of the nose where the ultimate visibility of the scar will be limited. The lip lift that Dr. Kopelman performs will start with a bullhorn subnasal incision followed by a release of deep upper lip tension. The soft tissue layers over the muscle are lifted, not just the outer skin layer. The release of all the tissue layers is necessary to relieve the tension that restricts lip lifting followed by a deep-plane advancement flap.
